Changed the animations of Greg, Julian, and the Nemtech Receptionist to match the new animation style
Bugfix
Fixed a bug associated with the in-game menu UI buttons that could potentially have caused a soft-lock
Fixed a bug that would make saves from the demo unplayable in the supporter version of the game
Features
New animated Spine2D sprite models for Jamie, Hazel, Max, Charlene, and Dave, matching how Maki’s model behaves.
Changes
Major changes to how we optimize and store graphical assets, and how we load them, to reduce game file size and, hopefully, improve performance. For context, we’ve reduced the game’s file size by about 2GB, nearly half its previous size.
Overhauled the Main menu screen with a new layout and buttons linking to socials and storefronts.
Changed the Galli VIP scene to fade in.
Updated import and filter settings for many animated sprite scenes to make them look smoother and less pixelated.
Improved the Gallery so image displays open and progress much faster.
Changed how we load characters to support the transition from the old to the new sprite animation system.
Changed the Episode 1 interior of Estro to reflect how it should look in the story.
Changed the font used in several menus for better visual consistency.
Changed the layout and design of several menus.
Replaced the in-game menu buttons with new original art.
Updated the intro splash screen for greater visual consistency.
Bugfixes
Fixed the Character Creator defaulting to the wrong hairstyle; it was set to ‘Shaggy’ instead of ‘Default’ for a long time.
Fixed a bug in the Gallery where the ‘Return’ button didn’t reappear during scene replays.
Fixed the invisible hand during the Jamie Kiss scene back in Episode 1.
Fixed notifications appearing outside the game window on absurd screen resolutions (mostly phones).
Fixed not being able to take screenshots in the Gallery menu.
Fixed some objects in point-and-click scenes being outlined when they shouldn’t be.
Fixed a softlock that could occur at the Episode 2 Galli scene with Max.
Fixed an animation script issue that made the blinking look a little off.
Fixed Maki’s model rendering smaller than it should be.
Fixed a softlock where hiding the UI during a point-and-click segment prevented you from opening the menu again on Android devices.
Sorry this took some time! We were also working on the Public Demo, and we applied many of those improvements to the hotfix as well.
We will continue to look for ways to improve performance and file size!
